ParmaViolet — Ghost Theme for Writers & Publishers

ParmaViolet is a clean Ghost theme built for writers, studios, and digital publishers who want their site to feel calm and easy to read. It works with Ghost 5 and Ghost 6, and supports memberships, search, comments, and newsletters out of the box.

A reading experience that stays out of the way

The layout keeps attention on the writing. Type is clear, spacing is generous, and the interface stays light so posts, photography, and archives feel intentional rather than busy.

You can shape the homepage from Ghost Admin: choose a hero style, feature key stories, show popular tags, and add a short about section for your lead author.

Homepage options include:

• Hero layouts: default, with image, or with background image
• Featured posts with a simple slider when you highlight more than two stories
• Optional tag list and author about block
• Newsletter signup when members are enabled
• Light, dark, and system color modes

Post layouts that fit the piece

Not every article needs the same opening. Set a default post style for the site, or pick a template per post when the story asks for it.

Available layouts:

• Standard post header
• Image on the left
• Image on the right
• Full background image header
• Table of contents layout for longer essays

Author and tag archives include breadcrumbs once you set your Authors and Tags page slugs. Related posts pull from the same primary tag so readers can keep going without a hard stop.

Memberships that feel native to Ghost

ParmaViolet uses Ghost’s own Portal for sign-in, subscription, and account. Search and comments use Ghost’s built-in tools. Members-only and paid posts show clear labels in the feed, so free and paid content are easy to tell apart.

Built for Ghost 6 and store submission

The theme passes GScan for Ghost 6, loads assets through Ghost’s asset helper, and turns on editor card styles by default. Images include alt text, navigation works with the keyboard, and empty states are handled when a post has no image or an author has no bio.

A “Published with Ghost” credit stays in the footer, as required for the Ghost Marketplace.
